Themes, Toolbars, Homepage, Downloads
and Tab settings
On the top toolbar, click Tools then click Themes.
Click the "Get More Themes" link. Click/choose a theme
from the resulting page and then click Install from the next page. I prefer the
Qute theme. Highlight the new theme in the Themes window and click the "Use
Theme" button. Exit out of all open windows.
Relaunch Firefox to have the new settings take effect. |
|
On the top toolbar, click View, Highlight Toolbars and in the
right hand column, uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar. See below. This and other settings discussed
are my personal preferences. You may want to keep the Bookmarks Toolbar for your
often used Bookmarks/Favorites. Note: Favorites in Internet Explorer are called
Bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox. |
|
Again, on the top toolbar, click View, Highlight Toolbars and in
the right hand column, click Customize. You can now click on desired icons
and drag them one at a time up to the top toolbar next to Help. I usually drag
up Print, History and Bookmarks. |
|
Go to a webpage that you would like to use as your homepage. On the top
toolbar click on Tools, then click on Options. Click/highlight
"General" on the left as shown below. Click "Use Current
Page" to set you homepage to the current page your browser is on. |
|
Click/highlight "Downloads" on the left. Bullet "Ask me where
to save every file" and uncheck "Show Download Manager window when a
download begins" as shown below. |
|
Click/highlight "Advanced" on the left. In the "Tabbed
Browsing" section, bullet "a new tab in the most recent window"
and place a checkmark in all four boxes as shown below.
Click OK to save your settings. |
|
Continue on to the next
page for adding Extensions.
